Virginia D'Eliseo-Ellis Obituary

Virginia D’Eliseo Ellis, 80, of Duryea, passed away Monday May 27th, 2024 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. after a brief illness.


Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Ann DeMark Lussi.  She was a graduate of Pittston High School and was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.


Virginia attended writing classes at King’s College later in life.  She loved her grandkids and that was her favorite time was when she was with them.  Virginia loved television shows that entailed crime, and the Walking Dead.    She also loved being in Atlantic City playing the slot machines.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald D’Eliseo Sr., Husband, Anthony Ellis, daughter, Michele D’Eliseo, and nephew, Shaun Lussi.


Virginia is survived by her children, Ronald D’Eliseo and his wife Brenda, Duryea, Anthony D’Eliseo and his wife Angela, Laflin, Mary Ann Sromoski and husband Adam, West Pittston, grandchildren, Christen D’Eliseo, Ronald D’Eliseo, Anthony D’Eliseo, Robert D’Eliseo, Sammy D’Eliseo, and Bethany Sromoski, brother, Louis Lussi and wife Mary Ann, Old Boston (Jenkins Twp.), and several nieces and nephews.


The funeral will be held on Friday at 12:30pm. From the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston with a Mass of Christian burial at 1pm. In St. Joseph Marello Parish at 237 William Street, Pittston.  Father Paul McDonnell will be the celebrant.  Interment will be held in St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston Twp. 


Relatives and friends may attend a viewing for Virginia from 10:30am. until 12:30pm. At the Funeral Home.
