Joan L. Walsh Obituary

Joan L. Walsh, 93, formerly of Jenkins Twp., passed away Wednesday morning in Untied Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Twp.


Born in Jenkins Twp., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta Hopkins Walsh.  She was a graduate of Jenkins Twp. High School and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.


She was employed for many years the Rex Shoe Factory, Exeter and then at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital as and environmental aid up until her retirement.


Joan lived a quiet life and enjoyed being at home with family.  


She was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Lasky, Mary Elizabeth Walsh, brother John Walsh and brother-in-law, Andrew Lasky.


Joan is survived by nieces and nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews.


Relatives and friends may attend a viewing for Joan on Saturday August 10th, 2024 in St. John the Evangelist Church 35 William Street, Pittston from 9:30am. until 10:30am.   A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am. with Monsignor John Sempa, of Corpus Christi Parish, celebrant.   Interment will then be held in the Parish cemetery, Tederick Street, Pittston.
