Obituary of Lois Jane Weinland
Lois J. Weinland, 91, of West Pittston, passed away Saturday December 21st, 2024, in Allied Hospice, Wilkes-Barre with her family by her side.
A life long resident of West Pittston, she was born to the late Adair and Temperance Matthews Murdoch. She was a graduate of the West Pittston High School. Lois was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church, West Pittston.
Lois was a member of Class 18 at the First United Methodist Church. She was involved in just about every activity at the church. Lois taught Sunday School, Bible School and was always there for every event.
She loved her family. Her light of her life was her grandchildren. Lois enjoyed Baking, sewing, playing the organ, crafts and ceramics was also fer favorite with her late sister. She was a great sewer and always enjoyed making clothes and dresses and her kids Halloween costumes when they were younger. Her Christmas cookies were always a big hit for the holidays and she took orders for them in November and then baked right up to almost the holiday. Lois enjoyed reading books and doing Sudoku puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her sister Lenore Morgan.
Lois is survived by her husband of 61 years Ronald Weinland, sons, Ronald Weinland Jr. and his wife Kim, Alabama, Kurt and his wife Megan, Exeter, grandchildren Rachel Baldwin and husband Joseph, Kyrstin Weinland and husband Justin Sabo, Ronald III, Nathaniel and wife Heather, Tyler Weinland and Anna Jane Weinland, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Service will be held at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston at noon on Saturday December 28th, 2024 with Pastor Kelly Groves, First United Methodist Church, West Pittston, officiating. Relatives and friends may attend a viewing for Lois from 10:30am. until Service time. Interment will follow the Service in Mountain View Cemetery, Harding.
In Lieu of flowers or memorial donations may be made in Lois’s name to the First United Methodist Church, at 408 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.
