Constance A. Slater Obituary

Constance A. Slater, 98, of West Pittston, passed away Friday morning March 14th,2025 in Allied Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.


Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Speziale Blandina.   She was a graduate of Jenkins Twp. High School.  Connie attended Marywood College.   She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston.


Connie owned and operated Blandina Market, Pittston with her family for many years until its closing.   She then went on to be the Deli Manager at Insalaco’s Market until her retirement.


She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Slater, 1981, and her brothers, Sam, John, and Dominick Blandina, sisters, Josephine Cordora, Susan Baiera.


Connie is survived by her son, Gerard Slater and his wife Robin, West Pittston, Step-son, Tracy David Slater, Trenton, New Jersey, grandchildren, Drew Slater and his wife Julia, great-grandchild, Aralynn Slater, sister, Rosemary Lewis and her husband Norman, Wilkes-Barre, and several nieces and nephews.


A visitation will be held on Tuesday at 9am. until 10:30am. in Corpus Christi Parish (Immaculate Conception Church) at 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am.   Inurnment will follow in the Dennison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
