Ann Marie Reed Obituary

Ann Marie Reed, 91, of Harding, passed away Saturday morning February 7th, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. 


Born in Archbald, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Wopart Harrsion.  She was a graduate of St. John’s High School, Pittston.  Ann was a past parishioner of St. Cecelia’s Church in Exeter until it’s closing and then attending Corpus Christi Parish.


Ann married Edward T. Reed who was a major in the United States Army.   Together they traveled the world during his military career with their family. 


She was employed at Bell Telephone for many years and then at the Donut Connection and then a manager at the Knights Inn, Pittston Twp.  


Ann was a member of the Topp’s women’s club and also the Falls Senior Center.


She loved her family.   More importantly her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.   Never missing an event, wedding, graduation or anything else she was always there for her family.


Ann loved sewing, planting and gardening, traveling the world especially her trips to Ireland.  She went there a lot to visit family.  Everyone knew that she loved shopping and may have had a slight addiction to QVC.


She was preceded in death by her husband Edward T. Reed, 2001, an infant sister, Eileen Harrison, and her sister Elizabeth Kratz who just passed away in November of 2025.


Ann is survived by her children, Lois Nye and her husband Joseph, Dripping Springs, Tx., Earlene Fernandes, Wyoming, Ronald Reed and his fiancé Lynn O’Mara, Noxen, Aine Thomas and her husband Jack, Harding, grandchildren, Dion Fernandes and his wife Abbey, Darren Fernandes, Danita Pires and her husband Jorge, Kristen Reed, Tiffany Matosky and husband John, Shannon Reed, Madeline Reed, Kaleigh Reed, Ryan Thomas, Aine Rae Yarick and husband Charlie, Reed Thomas and fiancé Colleen, Riley Thomas, Keegan McGlynn and husband Anthony, 17 Great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.


The Funeral will be held on Saturday February 14th, 2026 at 9:30 from the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.   A Mass of Christian Burial will then take place at 10am in Corpus Christi Parish (Immaculate Conception Church) at 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston.   Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming.  Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5pm until 8pm at the Funeral Home.


The family would like to thank the Nurses, Doctors, and Sacred Heart Hospice for their wonderful care that they gave to Ann the last week.
