Francis L. Urban Obituary

Francis (Frank) Urban, 91, of West Pittston, passed away Friday march 6th,2026 peacefully at his home.


Born in Swoyersville, he was a son of the late Francis J. and Connie Kamus Urban.  He was a graduate of the Swoyersville High School Class of 1952.


A proud United States Marine, Frank served his Country with honor from 1954-1957.  He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.


He was employed as a production foreman at Celotex retiring in 1997, then went to work several more years at Wal-Mart as an Assembler, retiring in 2012.


Frank was an avid hunter, liked classic cars, and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan for many years.


He was preceded in death by sisters Joan John and Eunice Patyk.


Frank is survived by his wife Joan, sister-in-law, Jane Tomko and her husband Ron, Wyoming, niece, Debra Sanfilippo and husband Mike, Wyoming, nephews, Ron Tomko and wife Jane, Blandon, Mike and Joseph Sanfilippo, Nick Tomko, nieces, Anna Tomko, and Amy Kehner.


As per Frank’s wishes all of his Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.   He will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming.


Arrangements are by the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.
