William J. Briggs Sr. Obituary

William John Briggs, 66, of East Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on April 8, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.


Born on October 20, 1959 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of Nicolina Briggs and the late Clarence Briggs.


William dedicated 43 years of his life to his career as a manager at ShopRite, where he was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and the relationships he built over the years.


Outside of work, he found great joy on the golf course. He was a proud member of Four Seasons Country Club and a former champion of the Fox Hill Country Club John Allan tournament. Golf was not just a pastime for William, but a passion that brought him happiness and lifelong friendships.


He is survived by his wife, Jean; his mother, Nicolina Briggs; three children: William Briggs and his spouse Brittany Pavlinchak, Bridget Rosentel and her husband, James, and Dana Vaughn and her husband Royce.


He is also survived by his former spouse and the mother of his children, Colleen Briggs; two aunts, Rosalie Bugelholl and Toni Valenti, and several cousins.


William was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, Aubrey, James, and Connor Rosentel; Cole Briggs; and Madison Vaughn, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.


A Visitation will be held on Sunday April 12th, 2026 from 2pm until 5pm at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.   A Blessing Service will be held at 5pm.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
