Casimer J. Azaravich Obituary
Casimer J. Azaravich, 99, of Pittston, beloved father and husband, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening May 5th, 2026.
His wife, the former Irma Bellumori, resided with him at the Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Facility, Scranton. The couple had been married 70 years.
Born in Pittston on December 31, 1926, Cas was the son of the late Mary and Joseph Azaravich.
Prior to retirement, he was a heavy equipment operator for American Asphalt, Falls and later worked as a Security Officer at Pocono Downs.
Cas was a gentleman of the greatest generation. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Pittston, where he served as head usher.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served honorably in WW II.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Edward, Leo and sisters, Helen Kweicinski and Stella Antonello.
Surviving are daughter, Cathryn Azaravich-Turner (Robert), Pittston and son, Kevin Azaravich and wife Melissa, Kingston, brothers, Joseph and Robert, sisters, Dolores Berlinski, Gloria Kirchoff and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday May 9th, 2026 from 12pm until 1pm in St John the Evangelist Church at 35 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm with Military Honors to follow by the United States Army. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
