Mary Margaret (Peggy) Shugdinis, 81, of West Pittston, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022.


Mary was born in Appomattox, VA daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Higginbotham.


Peggy worked in retail for many years. She was very active and preferred to keep her hands busy even while sitting.


Peggy was an avid gardener and expert crocheter and enjoyed solving word puzzles. Peggy’s greatest joy was spending time with her four granddaughters.


Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Shugdinis; son, Robert and his wife Angela, of Simsbury, CT; daughter, Cheryl Mullin of Southwick, MA; granddaughters, Sydney, Devon and Jordan Shugdinis and Madison Mullin; and siblings, Belle Campbell of FL, Rosa Lee Cyrus of VA, and Robert Higginbotham of VA. She was preceded in death by siblings Orville, Harry, Cecile and Travis Higginbotham. Funeral services for Mary will be private and held the convenience of the family she will be laid to rest in St. Casimir’s Cemetery in Pittston.
