James P. Shevlin, 76, of Exeter went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 29th, 2022 in Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.
Born on June 18th, 1945 in Scranton he was the son of the late Edward Shevlin and Elizabeth Manley Shevlin Beck and was a Graduate of East Side High School in Patterson New Jersey.
Jim was a hardworking and dedicated employee of Fitchburg Coated Products for 22 years, starting in the accounting department and eventually working his way up to the Vice-President of manufacturing, often involving international travel for his position. His true joys, however, were found in faith and God and his family that he built with the love of his life Patricia Porta Shevlin.
He was a member of the Back Mountain Harvest Church in Trucksville. Jim will be remembered for his wisdom, love, and dedication to his family.
Jim was preceded in death by a Granddaughter, Courtney Cary in 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years the former Patricia Porta, Daughter, Susan Cary and her husband Charles of Jenkins Twp., Son Edward and his wife Jennifer of Danville, Kentucky, Daughter, Ann Marie Dillon and her husband Matt of Exeter, Grandchildren, James and Kimberly Cary, Kelly Weaver and her husband Bryan, Lydia Shevlin and Megan Dillon, Great-Grandchildren, Nevaeh Cary, Everleigh and Emmalynn Weaver, also, Brothers Edward of Montgomery, Texas, Thomas of Gouldsboro, Pa, and Patrick of Charlotte, North Carolina, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Service will be held on Tuesday Morning June 7th, 2022 at 10a.m. in the Back Mountain Harvest Church at 340 Carverton Road in Trucksville with Pastors Ray Petts and Pastor Jack Rehill Officiating. Everyone is asked to go directly to Church on Tuesday morning. Interment will be held in the Dennison Cemetery in Swoyersville. Family and Friends may call on Monday June 6th, 2022 from 6p.m. until 8p.m. at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., at 509 Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston.
The Family would like to thank the Staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kind and compassionate care that they gave Jim and to all of the Family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of the Sacred Heart at 100 William Street in Dunmore, the "Gift" at the Back Mountain Harvest church at 340 Carverton Road in Trucksville, or the Saint Jospeh's Center at 2010 Adams Avenue in Scranton, Pa 18509.
