WEST PITTSTON - Judith C. Carpenter, 79, formerly of West Pittston, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 1, 2021, in the Gardens at East Mountain Manor in Plains Township.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Janet Burnside Behlke and was a graduate of the West Pittston High School.
Judith and her husband for more than 60 years owned and operated Carpenters Greenhouses in West Pittston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett, in 2008.
Judith is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Connors and husband, Joseph, of West Pittston, Karen Whyte and her husband, Billy, of Exeter; son, Jeffery Carpenter and wife, Sherry, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews, and a brother, Donald Behlke, of Palmyra, N.Y.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Gardens at East Mountain Manor for their kind and compassionate care that they gave to Judy.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home at 509 Wyoming Ave. in West Pittston.
