Julia A. Raker Obituary

Julia Raker, formerly of Shavertown, passed away February 10th , 2022 in St. Luke's Hospital in Easton, Pa

Julie was born to Julia Mickulick Hager, and Thomas Acerbi, on May, 1, 1943, in Plainfield, NJ. She co-managed two well-known stores in Northeast Pennsylvania with her late husband Harold "Hal" Raker-Hal's Repair Shop in Kingston and Shavertown--where they repaired appliances and sold model trains. Julie grew up in Wilkes-Barre and graduated from Grand Army of the Republic High School. She also attended Bloomsburg Teacher's College, where she studied Education. Julie and Hal wed on June 25, 1966, in West Pittston, and were married for 49 years. While her family is heartbroken about this loss, there is some joy knowing they are together once again.

Julie is survived by her beloved son David, of Easton; her sisters Yvonne Gabel, of New York, NY, and Evelyn Hager, of Seattle, WA; as well as nieces Luci Gabel, of Glendale, CA, and Claudia Gabel Lindvall, of New York, NY, and nephew Paul Gabel, of Queens, NY.
