Nathan Sands, 91, of Harding, passed away Wednesday September 7th, 2022 at home.
Born in Harding he was a son of the late Corea and Grace Kitchen Sands and was a graduate of the West Pittston High School. After high school he attended St. Louis University Parks College in East St. Louis and graduated with a degree in Aeronautical engineering.
Nathan worked for Boeing for 25 years until his retirement.
He also served his Country in the United States Navy.
After retirement, Nathan helped his son at his business Sands Auto running parts to customers. He also loved to Fish, Hunt, Camp and also had a green thumb for Gardening.
He Loved his property and was born and raised in the house he passed away in. He loved to walk his property up the mountain to check on things.
He was preceded in death by several siblings, Delia Sands Valentine, Gladys Sands, Kennerd Sands, Phillmore Sands, Marion Sands, Jemima Sands Widrick, Margaret Sands Wyant, Warren Sands, Richard Sands, Robert Sands, Vergil Sands, Beatrice Sands Krug.
Nathan is Survived by his wife of 68 years the former Ruth Evans, Children, Jerry Sands and wife Lyn, of Drums, Pa, Cheryl Marren and husband Kevin of West Grove, Pa, Nathan Sands Jr. and his companion Denise of Oxford, Pa, grandchildren, Jeremy Sands and wife Kaitlyn, Joshua Sands and wife Jenn, great-grandchildren, Maya, Hailey, Nadia and Nathan, Brother, Corey Sands Jr. and his wife Mary of Bethlehem, Pa, Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday September 14th, 2022 at 12p.m. at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston with the Rev. Robert Shaw III Officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in Mountain View Burial Park, Harding. Family and Friends may call from 11a.m. until the time of Service at the Funeral Home.
