Harriet Louise Truelove, 94, a lifelong resident of West Pittston passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 28th, 2022, at her home surrounded by caregivers, her loving daughter Bonnie and son-in-law Dan Fox, West Pittston.
Born in Pittston on June 17th, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Myrddyn and Isabel Rickert Edwards. She as a proud graduate of the West Pittston High School Class of 1946.
She worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years. Later in life, Harriet worked for West Pittston Borough. She worked as a crossing guard for many years and in the summers, she worked at the front desk at the borough pool. Harriet also worked at the election polls.
Harriet enjoyed spending time with her family along with her grand fur-babies, find a word books, jig-saw puzzles, reading and visiting with friends. She especially enjoyed traveling to visit family out of state for her birthday celebrations enjoying lobster, clams and her favorite German chocolate birthday cake.
At age 90, Harriet was fortunate to meet her son Tim that she so lovingly gave up for adoption 59 years prior. She is survived by Tim Brown, (Thomas Edwards at birth), Wichita, Ka., and his 5 children and 5 grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Ted” Truelove, brothers, Myrddyn “Red” Edwards, Raymond “Pete” Edwards, sisters, Marion Darling and Nancy Clegg.
Harriet is survived by her special goddaughter and niece, Sandy Alexander and husband Chris Rockville, Tn, great niece, Heather Mullican and husband Shay, great grandnephew, Finch and great grandniece, Juniper Mullican, Christiana, Tn., nephew, Gary Clegg and wife Debi, great nephew Mason Clegg, Riverview, Fl., nephew, Kurt Edwards and wife Vicky, great grandnephew Cody Snyder, Pipersville, Pa, Sister-in-law, Alicia Edwards, Vero Beach, Fl.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their wonderful care, compassion and support during this difficult time.
To honor Harriet’s wishes there will be no formal viewing or services.
A private inurnment will be held at the Pittston Cemetery with a celebration of life, at a future date.
Harriet bids a fond farewell to family and friends that loved her.
