Obituary of Nancy Doblovasky
Nancy (Oliveri) Doblovasky, 98, entered into the arms of the Lord on January 26th, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was a lifelong resident of Pittston. One of eleven children, Nancy was the daughter of the late Carmen and Filomena (Serino) Oliveri. She was the wife of the late Anthony (Clinko) Doblovasky.
Nancy graduated from Pittston High School, Class of 1942. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Marello Parish and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Nancy continued as a stay at home mother after being widowed in 1967. She gave birth to her youngest daughter shortly after the death of her husband. This was a difficult time, and Nancy had to be both mother and father while she raised her children and provided a loving and warm home.
Kind, caring, strong, and resilient are words often used to describe Nancy. She was deeply religious, always strengthening her family and friends with her roots in faith. She loved spending time with her family. Nancy enjoyed cooking delicious Italian meals; she was also a terrific baker. Playing the lottery and trips to the casino were some of her favorite things to do.
Nancy and her husband Anthony are finally reunited in heaven after nearly 56 years apart. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy (Doblovasky) Walsh; brothers Bennie, Armando, Nazarro, James, Stanley, Albert and Joseph; and sisters, Carmella Abate, Helen Cerza and Margaret Petrillo.
She is survived by her son Stanley (Dude) and wife Angela, West Pittston; daughters Charlene DeFazio, at home, Toni Ann Nyzio and husband Joe, Pittston; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was truly the heart and soul of her family and will be forever loved and missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Guy Fasciana along with the team of Compassionate Care nurses.
Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9am from the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Ave, West Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Church, 237 William St., Pittston.
