Kevin M. Sharp, 46, of West Pittston, passed away Sunday February 5th, 2023, after a lifelong battle with addiction.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Neil and Carolyn Bauman Sharpe and was a 1994 Graduate of Wyoming Area High School.
He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors, shooting pool, and playing chess and most of all being with family and friends.
Although it is impossible to capture a person’s life in a few short paragraphs, Kevin affected so many struggling with recovery. If you knew Kevin, he had a story to tell and then some. He was a beautiful tortured soul, struggling with addiction for over 30 years. The love and support of his parents and family never wavered. This disease had him battling these demons over and over again. Kevin did have several years of sobriety. Finally getting the chance to live life.
We ask you all to remember Kevin the way we will. His addiction did not define who he was. Remember him for his kind eyes, his big heart, warm smile and most of all, his ability to tell you how much he loved you every time you parted ways.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Conrad and Catherine Higgins Bauman, and paternal grandparents, Kathleen and John Sharp.
Kevin is survived by his parents Neil and Carolyn Sharpe of West Pittston, daughter, Katelynn Sharp, Pittston, sister, Kelly Baiamonte and husband Ben, Shavertown, brother, Christopher Sharp and his wife Christa, Kingston, sister, Megan Nemshick and husband Peter, West Pittston, and his best friend and the love of his life, Michelle Beagle, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Kevin on Thursday from 5pm until 8pm at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday morning at 10am in Corpus Christi Parish 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers or memorial donations can be made in Kevin's name to the Recovery Bank at 120 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, Pa 18503.
