Obituary of Susan E. Alaimo

Susan E. Alaimo, 65, of West Pittston, passed away Friday March 24th, 2023 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. after a brief illness.

Born in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of Maggie Fetchen Jones and the late Ernest Jones.  She was a graduate of G.A.R. high school and was employed at Wyoming Area School District until her retirement in 2022 as a Para Professional Special Needs Aide.  

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Pittston where for many years taught vacation bible school.

Susan was a long-time member of the West Pittston Rec. Board and was also very active in Girl Scouts.

Her passion was taking care of her family.  It was her second job and she loved every minute of it.   She also loved to watch war documentaries on television, meeting with her group of close friends for coffee and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dawn Grover, and granddaughter Mercedes Alaimo.

Susan is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jim Alaimo, her mother, Maggie Jones, Wilkes-Barre, son, Steven Alaimo, West Pittston, grandson, Steven Alaimo, great-grandchildren, Hunter and Eli Alaimo, brother Ernest Jones and his wife Donna, Bear Creek, several, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

As per Susan’s wishes all of her services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
