Obituary of Eileen C. Duggan
Eileen C. Duggan, 87, formerly of Lake Harmony and Pittston, passed away Wednesday afternoon April 19th, 2023, in Spring Village at Pocono, Stroudsburg, after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
Born in Pittston Township on July 5, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Gilvary) Flanagan. She was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston (1953) and The Comptometer School in Scranton (1954).
Eileen was a cheerleader in high school. She enjoyed league bowling in Wyoming and was a member of the Split Rock Women’s Golf league in Lake Harmony. She would often take her nephews and nieces golfing, fishing, bowling, swimming and for rides on her golf cart. She loved her family and all animals, including her last fur baby, Vinnie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Duggan, in 1990; sisters and their husbands, Mary Louise (Robert) Donahue, Dorothy (Peter) McHale, and Nancy (Joseph) Lizza and nephews Bobby Donahue and P.J. McHale.
Surviving are her brother in law, Bill (Laura) Duggan and nieces and nephews, John (Molly) McHale, Eva McHale, Jerry (Marilyn) Donahue, Mary Lou Donahue, Joseph Lizza, Patrick (Anita) Lizza, Mary (Greg) Paglianite and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 24th, 2023 at 10a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 35 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Eileen from 9amuntil 10am in the Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Howell Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.
