Obituary of Brian M. Abromovage
Brian M. Abromovage, 74, of Wyoming, passed away Thursday morning May 11th, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Pittston, he was a son of the late Samuel and Frances May Abromovage. He was a graduate of the last graduating class of Exeter High School. Following high school, he attended trade school in Philadelphia for his electrician’s license and went on to work at Atlas Chain and Cable, Techniglas, and Pride Health Care.
He was an Eagle Scout, past President of the Fraternal order of Eagles, and a member of the V.F.W., Exeter. As everyone knows, Brian was a man of few words; however, on the topic of politics, he would talk your ear off. Although he considered himself full of “useless knowledge,” everyone would go to him for advice or help with any projects or circumstance. He was also a history and science buff, with a fun take on extraterrestrial beings. He was a lover of animals, with a best friend named Sampson. Although it appeared he was putting up a fight, Papa never said “no” to his grandchildren and endless shopping trips with their Gramma.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Gail Ann Abromovage, to whom he was married for 55 years.
He is survived by son Brian Abromovage and wife, Michele, Wyoming; Heather Williams and husband, Philip, East Stroudsburg; Lesley Ratchford and husband, Patrick, Wyoming; grandchildren Michael and Christian Abromovage; Hope, Haley, and Haden Williams; and Madison and Sydney Ratchford. Also, brothers Bernie and Barry Abromovage, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a service held on Wednesday, May 17, at Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue West Pittston, officiated by the Reverend Joseph Sibliano, O.S.J. at 4:00p.m. with visitation from 4:30p.m. until 6:30p.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s memory to the American Cancer Society 2000 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203 or to the SPCA of Luzerne County at 524 E. Main St. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
