Obituary of Ronald J. Strelish
Ronald J. Strelish, 47, of Dupont, passed away Sunday afternoon at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Scranton, he is the son of Ronald Strelish and Roseann Appnel Strelish and is a graduate of Pittston Area High School class of 1993. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
Ronnie was employed as a truck driver for Atlantic Propane.
He was an active member and the Sergeant at Arms of the Polish American Citizens Club, Dupont and also a social member of the Dupont V.F.W. Post 4909.
Everyone who knew Ronnie, knows that he was an avid San Francisco 49er’s fan and he collected all of their sports memorabilia. He loved fishing, playing pool, campfires, playing pitch, picking mushrooms, his garden, the movie Titanic, and the beach in Wildwood New Jersey a favorite place of his where he loved feeding the seagulls.
Ronnie loved GAMBLING of any kind. He loved to bet on just about anything. He also loved spending time with his family which was important to him. He loved going out with his sister and best pal Kim, teasing his younger sister Tara on just about everything. Ron loved being around people and out in the social scene enjoying some drinks with his cousin and best friend Mark Kowalczyk and great Tom Martin.
In addition to his parents Ronnie is survived by his sisters, Kim McCann and husband Bob, Dupont, Tara and Companion Jeremy Lumley, West Pittston, Nephew Michael Wienckoski, his Puppy dog pal Firpo, the love of his life Sherry Armitage, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends.
The family would like to thank the following people, his friend and boss Richard Gorzkowski owner of Atlantic Propane, Doctors Yeo and Bashir from Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia, Doctor Mauer Biscotti, Dr. John Costello D.M.D., and all of their nurses and staff.
The Funeral will be held on Thursday June 15th, 2023 at 9:30am from the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Paris at 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville with Father Joseph Pisaneschi as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Byzantine Cemetery on Union Street, Pittston. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday June 14th, 2023 from 5pm until 8pm at the Funeral Home.
