Obituary of Brian Paul Smetana

Brian Paul Smetana, 56, of West Wyoming, ended his long battle with cancer in a draw on Friday June 30^th, 2023.

Born in New Jersey the son of the late Robert Smetana and Elizabeth Muellr Smetana Tuson. 

Brian was a member of the Local 130 and was a foreman at the Berwick Power Plant.

He loved everything about motorcycles.  Brian took life by the handlebars and loved riding his bike and going for long rides with his wife Abby.  He also loved the outdoors, cookouts, fishing and being with his grandchildren, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by Thomas Karpinski who was like his brother and step-father Jim Tuson.

Brian is survived by his wife of 31 years the former Abigail Kern, his mother, Betty Tuson, Children, Stefanie Lasher and husband Theodore and their children, Layla, Evey, Theo and Rowan, West Pittston, Brittany Jacobs and husband Eric and their children, Darren and Appolonia, Trucksville, Hunter Smetana and companion Tacarra Roper Wyoming and their children Lucas Brian and Carter, Colby Kluk who was like his other son, Erica Butler and sons, sisters, Jennifer Ferree, nancy Hauck, brother, Robert Smetana, several nieces and nephews, and a long line of dear friends and family.

There is no question now that Brian is in heaven sitting along a stream fishing with his father and step-father and taking a long ride on his motorcycle on the streets of Heaven.  He did not lose hit battle with cancer; Brian was never a quitter.  He never lost a battle in his life except to his wife on a few occasions. 

When Brian was finished here and moved on, that sickness went away and he would have called that a draw.

Relatives and friends are asked to attend a viewing for Brian on Saturday July 8^th, 2023 from 2pm until 4pm at the Howell- Lussi Funeral Home, Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.  A service will be held at 4pm.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
