Nicole L. Gillen-Felker, 47, of Harding passed away unexpectedly Thursday October 26th, 2023 at home.
Born in Syracuse, New York she is the daughter of Philip Gillen and the late Victoria Treadwell Gillen. She was a graduate of the Susquehanna Valley High School.
After High School she went to Elmira College, and then to Corning Community College where she received an associate in Criminal Justice, National American University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in business, Broome Community College for Criminal Justice and a minor in business, and Misericordia University and received a bachelors degree in business management.
She loved spending time with her family. Her daughter Ember was the core of her soul. She enjoyed ridding ATV’s as much as she loved being dolled up with her hair and makeup. Nicole had her own sense of humor which her family loved. She took great pride in her work providing outstanding service advocating for Veteran’s ensuring they receive quality and timely service. Prior to her position as the patient advocate Nicole held a position as a Federal Police Officer with the rank of Sergeant at the Wilkes-Barre V.A. Medical Center. Nicole was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and both the law enforcement and veteran communities.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Felker they were together 15 years, their daughter Ember at home, step-daughters, Amdis and Caley Felker, Harding, brother, Jeff Gillen (Fran), Windsor, Ny, sister Michelle Gillen, Pittsburgh, Colleen Wermeister, brother, Jonathan Gillen (Alison), Texas, aunt and uncle, Penny Treadwell (Jeff), Warren City, Pa, Cousin who was like her brother, Thomas Treadwell, Endicott, Ny., several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are asked to attend a viewing for Nicole on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 8pm at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston. A service will be held at 8pm with Monsignor John Sempa, Corpus Christi Parish, officiating. Military Honors will be held after the conclusion of the Service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
