Cheryl R. Skursky-Piper, 69, of West Pittston, passed away Thursday November 30th, 2023 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Jersey City, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Ethel Kittle Skursky and was a graduate of the Snyder High School, New Jersey. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittston where she also served on the Church council for many years.
Cheryl was employed for 26 years at Sabatini’s Pizza, Exeter where she took care of cleaning and making sure it was always top notch for customers. She also helped out at Play Plaza next to Sabatini’s.
She was a member of the Pittston Senior Center and President of the Friendly Circle Club.
Cheryl loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her light in life. Her other love was Bingo. Anyone who knew her, knew her passion for Bingo whether at a church, or at the senior center she was all for it and took it very seriously. She also loved being out in the garden planting vegetables and plants.
She was preceded in death by her brother Alan J. Skursky in 2021.
Cheryl is survived by her son, Ronald Pipher and companion Dawn Russo, Daytona Beach, Florida, grandchild, Kaitlin Pipher, great-grandchildren, Michael Knapek, Adeline VanLouvender, Brothers, Donald Skursky, Exeter, Dale Skursky, Wilkes-Barre, Paul Skursky, Leonard Skursky and wife Rose, Old Forge, Joel Skursky and wife Mellissa, Pittston, Michael Skursky, Lake Ariel, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 5th, 2023 at 10 am. at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston with the Rev. John Zimmerman, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Harding. Relatives and friends may attend a visitation for Cheryl on Monday from 6pm. Until 8pm at the Funeral Home.
