Martin W. Merder, 60, of Harding passed away Tuesday March 19th, 2024.

Born in Abington, Pa he as a son of Gunther and Anna Lis Rump Merder and was a graduate of Abington Heights High School.   He attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ, West Pittston

After High School Martin graduated from Trade Schools in Welding and different construction areas.

He was employed at the Navy Ship Yards, Philadelphia as a Welder and most recently at Excel Feeders, Dupont. 

Martin was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local #19, Philadelphia. 

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved anything to do with the outdoors.

Martin is survived by his wife, Janet Nicholson, sister, Regina Kessler (Michael), Santa Fe, NM, and a niece Celia, and nephew, Andre.

A visitation will be held on Saturday April 13th, 2024 from 12pm until 1pm. at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.  A service will be held at  1pm with Pastor Rob Henderson, officiating.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In Lieu of Flowers and or memorial donations may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide prevention at their website at AFSP.org.
