Doris J. Holtz, 87, of West Pittston, passed away Saturday April 20th, 2024 surrounded by her family in the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation, Dallas.

Born in Pittston she was a daughter of the late Jay and Martha Mainwaring Baker.  She was a graduate of West Pittston High School and a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, West Pittston.

She worked for Pomeroy’s and then the Bot-Ton, Wyoming for 32 years until her retirement.  

Doris was active for years in the Girl Scouts, West Pittston Pool, West Pittston Little league, and the West Pittston Library.

 She was an avid Dallas Cowboys, and Wilkes-Barre and Pittsburgh penguin’s fan.  She never missed any games.  Doris loved to read books, watching her television programs, and also loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.  She loved to travel all over the Country with her loving partner Frank.  They went on many cruises that took them on endless journeys.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Holtz Sr. in 1998, son Robert Holtz Jr., in 2013, brothers, Robert “Butch” Baker, Charles Baker, sisters, Marion Baker Friends and Betty Baker Williams.

She is survived by her daughter Sheree Stack and husband John, Wilkes-Barre, her loving companion for many years Frank Lynch, grandchildren, Jonathon Stack, and two boys that were like her grandchildren, Derek and Dylan Mottola, Dupont, and many nieces and nephews.

 A visitation will be held on Friday from 3pm until 5pm at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.   A service will be held at 5pm with the Pastor Rob Henderson, officiating.  Interment will be private in the Mountain View Cemetery, Harding.

In lieu of flowers or memorial donations may be made to the West Pittston Library at 200 Exeter Avenue, West Pittston.
