Obituary of Mary M. Pace
Mary P. Pace, 88, of Exeter, passed away Monday evening, August 12th, 2024, in Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation, Exeter where she had been a patient for the past three months.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Margaret Kaiser Schmeig. She was a graduate of Pittston Central Catholic High School. Mary was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston.
Prior to her retirement Mary worked for the Boston Shoe Store, Pittston and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center as a switchboard operator.
She was an avid New York Yankees and Notre Dame fan.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Harry, and her son Sean.
She is survived by her children, Cathy Morgan and her husband Chuck and their children, Chucky and Colby, Moosic, Margie Pace R.N., Exeter, son Harry and daughter Patty, Exeter whom she resided and her beloved pets, Daisy and Happy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Mary on Friday in Corpus Christi Parish at 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston from 9:30am. until 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am., with Monsignor John Sempa as the celebrant. Interment will be private in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.
The family is grateful to Dr. Paul Witt M.D., of Plains, who provided many years of exceptional care and to the staff of the PCU and Medical Surgery 4 unit at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. The family would also like to thank the staff at Highland Manor for the compassionate care they provided during her illness.
