We have many fond memories of Bob as we met him and Nancy when we joined the same church. At the time we were neighbors in our little friendly town of Narberth.
We will always remember Bob’s friendly ways. He was the kind of friend who was comfortable stopping by on his way to the local barber. With Peter by his side we were tickled to see them at our door. He always had a smile and often came bearing gifts.
I recall that Bob brought us our first poinsettia plant ever! He was fun, kind and generous.
Bob and Nancy welcomed large groups of friends for a chili/ carolling party at Christmas.. taught our kids in Sunday School and were so gracious in later years when we would dropin their home on Christmas Eve to wish them a Merry Christmas.
We could write more but will stop now as we express our Heartfelt sympathy to Nancy, Eleanor, Jerry, Stella, Ruby, Peter, Bryce and Virginia and all those who loved him.

I met Bob just over a year ago @ The Dietrich Theater for Qi-Gong class in Tunkhannock.
He was nice, friendly & also had a little joke to tell me. I knew then that he was a super exceptional man.
He surely will be missed at Thursday morning in class.
My sincere condolences to his family.
Rest Peacefully Bubba

The riverbank neighbors at Swiftwater Cottage and our children miss our good friend Bob, a regular at Mount Zion chicken barbecues, Wyoming Monument concerts, Fourth of July picnics, floats down the river, bird and bat watching in the evenings. and just visiting when our paths crossed. We admired all the good things he did, the groups he belonged and contributed to, and lively conversations at our cottages. We send love to Nancy, their children and grandchildren and close friends who share our sorrow.
Sadly, Judy and Jim Smith

Deaer Nancy,
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Bob's passing. We always enjoyed talking with him and I remember how nice he was to my mother.
It was a lovely obituary. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I love my funny memory with Bob when I was just 17 and he was driving me up to Hyde Boarding School in Maine to visit his daughter, my best friend Eleanor. Driving for hours we stopped off at a rest stop and he asked me if I needed to use the rest room, I said no. So he got out to stretch his legs and get some coffee, since we left in the wee hours of the morning. Well, I changed my mind while he was already inside and decided to get out and use the restroom. We must have just missed each other, because when I came back out to the parking lot, he was gone!! OMG! Bob left me stranded at this rest stop in God knows where!!! There were no cell phones back in 1993, so I have no way of getting ahold him to tell him to drive back to me! An hour and half later when he stopped again, he noticed, now that there was daylight, that I was no longer in the way back of their XL Suburban! He called Nancy and found out that I was still back in(wherever I was) waiting to be rescued! what an adventure Bob! And what a memory we share!! I think of you fondly I am praying for you and look forward to seeing you in heaven one day. God bless you and God bless the Smith family! Love, Caraleigh Baum (Thomas)

Our thoughts are with you, Nancy and family. We only knew Bob for a short time but treasured that time together, sharing books and swapping baseball stories. Each time a Phillie hit a homerun, our phone would bing with a “Hot diggity!” text from Bob. We’ll miss those bow ties and suspenders and that wild straw hat. As has been noted, everyone needs a Bubba.

Nancy & Family,
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed being pen pals with Bob. It was great to hear from him. He was always incredibly supportive of his family and happy to attend events in Buffalo. He truly will be missed and his memory lives on. In his words upon our last conversation "Everyone needs a Bubba".
